but you own a sewing machine now, so you can MAKE yourself a new bag! or like, sew a patch over the word Hummer. You can dye stuff too, I might recommend that.
If you'd like some lessons on sewing from a completely non-expert, I'm up for it!

I think the hardest part about sewing is learning how to thread the machine properly. After you've got that down, it's really just about trying to make sure everything is in a straight line.
I think I did pretty well for Christmas. I got a fancy flash for my camera and a hot pink bath robe.
Okay, so, we cracked open the sewing machine today. Megan, you are so right. We tried to figure out how to get the thread from the bobin to come out, and it nearly resulted in a fistfight. In the end, my father, of all people, figured it out. So, all in all, I'm already a little intimidated, but I know I have support out there. :)
The bobbin is probably the worst part.. I dislike it strongly. I am proficient enough at changing the thread at the top of the machine, but the bobbin gets me every time. Although, maybe if I was more domestic and used the sewing machine with any frequency I might be more adept at threading the thing.
